Finalement, quelqu un a acheté la démo, il ne l a pas mis en torrent mais il nous fait part de ces impressions (qui sont très bonnes).
Pour ceux qui aiment l anglais c est par ici :
I got the demo on disk last Friday and have been playing it all weekend.
My rig: AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 1 gb system RAM, GeForce 6600TD 256 mb PCI Express 16.
My system is a little on the low end, especially on the system RAM and I am upgrading to 2 gb before this game comes out. Even with a 256 mb 6600 card I get some lag and have to turn most video settings to Low but detail and shadows are on medium (I would not lower detail below med. as on low you don't get the cool 3d effects on flowers and grass also, shadows on low look very pixelated). Hopefully more RAM will help, but the fact that the requirements call for a 6800 or better tells me that they are using some of the direct x 9c features and a 6600 card just won't hang.
The game itself is visually stunning down to the little details, like the stones in the road and the fire. It has alot to offer in the way of eye candy! Even better than the visuals is the interface. It is very easy to use and intuitive. Here is one quick example. I always compare to Diablo II, so in D2 when you were trying to decide if a new item you found was better than your existing item you had to go back and forth and in other games, they might show stats going up or down if the new item were selected, but in TQ, you have a setting where it shows the stats for the item you are using and the new item side by side so you can make a quick comparison. Also they have a quick sell feature so you just right click the item and it is sold. These things sound trivial, but it is the small detail that makes the game. I also like the mapping in this game, as you can tell where you have not been even if you are replaying from the beginning (you'll see what I mean)
So far I have gone through the demo about 15 times (I played ravenously) and even the last time through I saw a creature type I had not seen in any of the previous times so I am sure in the full version replay-ability will be high.
I have found a few Rare items(green) and a few on the next rung Epic maybe (blue) but nothing amazing, although some of the added effects are cool.
Favorite character type in the demo: Pyromancer (Earth magic). Except I bump up the str and dex stats to use better melee weapons. It is a cool way to fight.
I would post some pics, but I am at work now and will not be home until later today, maybe I will drop some screens then.
Hope you don't mind my long-winded dissertation, but after all, I was an English major!
Actually 15 times through the demo is alot (I played constantly) but it was tough to have leveling stop at level 6. I wasn't even through it once when I reached that cap. Now I am just trying to complete relics, they are really cool. Some of them can be used on armor, some on weapons, and some even on rings and amulets. So I have half of my inventory with partial relics and I keep searching for other pieces to complete them.
And I actually had the demo in my hands last Friday. I ordered it on disk through Amazon. Long story short, they owed me some credit from previous "issues" with shipments so I used that to pay for it (I know why pay for a demo) but it did have a $10 off coupon with it for Best Buy, and that is where I have already pre-ordered anyhow.
I would say that if I had any concerns before the demo, they are gone now! This is the game I have been looking for. When it comes to RPG (action and traditional) I have played many D1, D2, DS, DS2, Baldur's Gate series(dating myself: Eye of the Beholder Series, Savage frontier Series, now there were some graphics!! what can I say, I like Forgotten Realms) but none had everything I wanted. Even D2 LOD was lacking in some ways that I was able to live with, but would have liked to work differently. "Item Farming" is my favorite thing about the genre and it looks like TQ is truly very robust in that area. Even though the demo limits you to a small part of the game and only 6 levels, you can still find good stuff. It seems to be more random than D2. There are times I make a run through the hardest parts of the demo and only find one or two chests with only basic equipment in them and get poor monster drops, then the next time there are 5 or 6 chests in the same area covered and I will get a couple good magic items and maybe a rare or two. I haven't found any set items, but maybe they were kept out of the demo somehow.
Overall I think the demo solidified it for me.
When you try to select Multiplay in the Demo, it tells you that that feature is not enabled. You also cannot choose a female character in the Demo.
I have seen the rag doll physics cause a Satyr to get stuck in the top of a tree. He flew so high he disappeared off the screen and all I could see was a shadow and then he landed in the tree. I also had one land on top of a tripod on top of a cooking fire. I have a screenshot of that one and when I am able to post pics I will add that one (roasted Satyr anyone?).
If you want to see the enemies fly, you may want to beef up on STR. I play mostly as an Earth mage called a Pyromancer and I can enchant my weapons to do fire damage so that combined with a high strength seems to "blast" them into the air.
I think in the actual game, if you play as a Pyromancer, you may no want to put so much into strength. My plan is this, a Pyromancer then a Rogue when it can be selected.
Unfortunately you cannot see what is in each of the other masteries, only their overall description is listed with a pick. In each of the playables (bad memory: warrior, earth mage, and hunter) You can see all of the skills. I actually tried on character where I went as high as I could in Earth magic and then selected the Deep Dweller, I think it is called (magma golem). He took alot of damage for me and was helpful doing damage as well, he was little slow and I had to stop periodically to let him catch up so that enemies "saw" him first.
On devrait avoir des screenshots d ici demain.
